The Outsiders
by S.E. Hinton

The Outsiders is an incredible story that everyone should read. It is very suspenseful and interesting. The author, S.E. Hinton, keeps the reader entertained throughout the whole book. It is very well written and I was unable to put the book down. S.E. Hinton wrote this wonderful novel when she was a teenager, which makes it a lot easier to understand and connect with the characters. It is the perfect teenage novel!

This book is set in the 1960’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is about a 14 year old boy named Ponyboy Curtis. He is a greaser. Greasers are poor and live on the east side of town, while the Socs, the rich kids, live on the west side. The Socs and the Greasers don’t get along very well so they get in a ton of fights. The Socs are always jumping the Greasers. I don’t want to give anything away, but Ponyboy and his friend, Johnny, get themselves into a scary situation and are forced to make some pretty quick and risky decisions.

Overall, I thought this book was amazing! I definitely recommend it to everyone. It deserves 5 stars! I would absolutely go back and read the book over and over again.
