Like Water for Chocolate
by Laura Esquivel
For those of you that are hopeless romantics, this book will have you cry, laugh, and feel an intense amount of hate for a fictional character. Esquivel has created a magical story that is so ridiculous it works perfectly. Tita who is always surrounded by the kitchen shares a forbidden love with Pedro but because of a family tradition they can never be together. The novel depicts the journey that Tita endures to staying faithful to her Pedro, and how their intense passion for each other never burns out.
