The Fountainhead
by Ayn Rand
Howard Roark, The Fountainhead’s protagonist, is a young architect. As a strong individualist, he commits himself to struggle in obscurity rather than jeopardize his artistic and ephemerally natured vision. Rand is considered to be one of the most controversial authors of the twentieth century. On the concern of her work, Ayn once stated,” If one recognizes the supremacy of reason and applies it consistently, all the rest follows. This—the supremacy of reason—was, is and will be the primary concern of my work, and the essence of Objectivism.” The Fountainhead, as well as all of her works are excellent.
