Anthem

Rand’s novella, Anthem, is a dystopian fiction that takes place at an unspecified future date and location. The society portrayed is encountering a dark age which came about as a result of collectivism and overly socialistic thinking. Technological advancement is carefully monitored, constantly questioned, and often forbidden. There is no concept of individualism, for in this society, all are considered one and collectively work for the benefit of the general populous. Rand’s writing is simply phenomenal and will impact the reader in unexpected ways.
